What is Ticket BAI?
Ticket BAI is the mandatory e-invoicing system introduced by the three provincial tax authorities of the Basque Country (Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa, and Álava). Its goal is to prevent tax fraud through:
- Issuing invoices with a unique identifier code
- Electronically signing each document
- Automatically sending invoice data to the corresponding tax authority
This must be done through certified software that guarantees traceability and transparency for every transaction.
How does Ticket BAI affect audiology clinics?
If your clinic operates in the Basque Country (Spain), you’ll need to comply with the following:
Issue invoices in the TBAI format, including:
- A unique identifier code
- A digital signature
- A standardized fiscal header
- Submit each invoice in real time to the relevant provincial tax authority (in XML format)
- Use software that is certified by the administration
